I'm looking for pdf software that will let me save a pdf that I was able to open and fill in. I'm looking for something cheaper than Adobe Acrobat Pro or even Standard. I'm not very sophisticated about this stuff and don't have many uses. I just want to save one of those pdf forms you can complete online and then send the completed form via email.
I'll be running it on Windows 8.1 desktop.

Do you want to create the form to start with, or just be able to complete an already created form?

Try CutePDF.

Newest version of MS Office was a "save to pdf" option.

I'm pretty sure the latest version of the free ADOBE READER lets you fill in blanks, add text and comments, and save a previously created .pdf document. This should allow you to do exactly what you want and is free.

Watch out for the attempt to get you to download McAfee antivirus - if you don't want it you have to uncheck the box.

It's free and dirt simple. You won't be disappointed.

I use Nuance. Seems to work well for me. I first got it on a Asus machine as the preinstalled stuff.
