I could listen to this stuff all day long. In fact, sometimes I do.

Lots of it feels "just right" for flying.

    What say you all?

<<-- this one was used for the wedding scene in Fandango - awesome movie.

Me too, i like it best still on the cob. i slather it with butter and some seasoned salt, wrap in tinfoil and throw it on the grill. By the way you spelled it wrong. Aren't you some kind of professor or something? You should spell better. (insert smarty pants emoji)

I like Pat Metheny...don't love him...but like him. I have the Watercolors, Jim Hall and Pat Metheny, The Pat Metheny Group, & the Beyond the Missouri Sky albums.

When it comes to Jazz (and/or Jazz Fusion) I'm more into Jeff Lorber, Bob James, Earl Klough, David Sanborn, Flim & the BBs, and the old standard...my fav in the jazz realm...Dave Brubeck. I could listen to Dave for days.

He's ok. Going to see the Rippingtons in a few weeks. Anyone of the Marsalis family is superb.

Jazz Essentials on Pandora is my go to station. Followed by the Joe Bonamassa channel (including Stevie Ray Vaughn).

    Cheers

Pat Methany Group's "Bright Size Life" has been one of my favorites since I first heard it the early '80s. Luckily I got to see them live circa 1984/85 when they played on campus at Texas Tech. Pat and his group put on an outstanding show!

One of my favorite musicians of all time! (along with Miles). I grew up listening to his mentor (Wes Montgomery), my father used to play his music almost daily in our home. So when I first heard Pat, around 30 years ago, I fell in love with his sound and have purchased several CD's and a few DVD's over the years.

I've seen him in concert in New York and New Jersey close to a dozen times. He lives in Manhattan near Central Park, with his wife and two sons. Back in 2000, I met him at J&R Music World on Park Row (lower Manhattan). He was promoting a new release. I shook his hand and got his autograph on the cover of my CD copy of "A map of the world", which is his soundtrack for a movie of the same name. He's a great guy!
My wife, son and sister-in-law, have all gone with me to his concerts. My brother, son and sister-in-law loves his music almost as much as I do! Wife isn't much of a jazz person, but she enjoyed the concert.

I agree, his music is perfect for flying.

Any of you musicians? I am a "player", not a musician, I cant for the life of me get excited about Jazz. I have tried, it just doesn't move me for some reason. Someone mentioned Joe Bonomassa earlier, i LOVE his stuff along with Warren Haynes.

Nothing like seeing him play this darn thing, live!
His custom made, 42-string Pikasso guitar. Christian McBride on bass and Antonio Sanchez (drums). Antonio is a monster :D

The Sound of Water, with Brad Mehldau. Saw them perform this a few years ago at the Blue Note in Manhattan, with my wife. INCREDIBLE!!!
Note: tablet/smartphone speakers are lousy and does no justice to the deep, rich sound of the instrument. Use a good pair of headphones.

Notice that you never see Pat's face on any of his album covers? There's a reason for that. ;).

No doubt, but as a musician, I'd bet he's still been laid more than anyone here! :goofy:
