Congratulations to RGIII as he is known to most people, however the people of little Copperas Cove, Texas know him as Robert and all that know him think very highly of him. He is polite to all beyond a fault and very friendly.

Robert Griffin III son of two Army non-comissioned officers one a Master Sergeant and the other a Sergeant First Class has lived in Copperas Cove since he was a young child and graduated 7th in his senior class of more than 450 seniors. He got a full ride to the University of Houston to play football, but when the coach there Art Briles announced he was leaving to coach at Baylor Robert changed schools and went to Baylor to play for Coach Bryles. He graduated Baylor in three years while playing football and now with one year eligibility remaining won the Heisman Trophy for being the best College football player in the United States.

Congratulations to Robert and to Copperas Cove, Texas which has spawned several football players currently in the NFL. Most notably is Charles Tillman of the Chicago Bears a Copperas Cove High School graduate.

Congrats, but beware the Heisman curse. Our QB soundly thrashed Tom Brady's Irish and won the Heisman, but it's Brady you hear about.

Congrats to Baylor on their 1st Heisman also.

Congrats to your home town for growing a great athlete and an all around nice guy.

But, you do not have "THE" Heisman trophy, you have "A" Heisman trophy. They award one every year, it does not travel to a new owner. Regardless, enjoy it! :D
