This movie looks great! I have a strong suspicion it won't really be shown at a theater near ME, unless it goes to Imax theaters. It looks to be a vanity project with some strong backers. Good for them! All airports should have such good support.

Meigs could have used it. Like VNY, Meigs (well, the lakefront) was Chicago's FIRST airport.

If you'd like to see some other great high def movies with flying scenes, there are two or more Imax movies that have great flyingfootage. I own "The Magic of Flight" which I first saw at the Cradle of Aviation Museum at on Long Island. Now that I think of it, having incomparable history behind it didn't stop THAT airport, Roosevelt Field - the site where Lindy left for Paris - from being turned into a mall.

I caught that one and "Stormchasers" on INHD2 on Comcast HD. "The Magic of Flight" put the Imax cameras on the Thunderbirds. At the beginning you fly in a red RV6. It has nice stuff on the theory of flying with animations and how it started with the Wright Brothers. It's a goodie to give to your non-flying friends. This Onesixright looks to be another one.

Stormchasers has the Imax camera on a GLIDER seeking out lightning at over 17,000 feet! It also has a good explanation of how thunderstorms and tornadoes are formed.

Both come from MacGllivray Freeman Films: There are others!

You should be able to find those on DVD at Amazon and elsewhere.

Ok, I gotta see it. How can I find out where it will play in the KC area?

The Cub needs a wooden prop. Did you see how fast the tail came up on its takeoff roll?

Yeah. Dat was nuthin. You should have seen me in my 235 yesterday practicing short field takeoffs. ;)

I think I waste all of the 65HP a Cub has just by carrying that extra fuel. :)

Mike, if you liked "The Magic of Flight" (I saw it three times at the museum), you've GOT to see "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag." See it in the IMAX version!!

Dunno. I don't have NetFlix.

One Six Right doesn't exist yet.

Ditto that... I like to sit FRC so close it almost hurts. Speakers shgould be louder for jet engines' sounds.

BTW: Did anybody notice small specks of stuff floating around on the image throughout the film ? ...more later on that.
