My DVR caught last week's new episode 47, titled Euro Fighter, which is an inside glimpse into the design and construction of the new Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet... Highly recommended episode if you can catch a rerun of it.

Watched and recorded it last night! Very nice indeed. Never would imagine they assembled it by hand...no robotics/automation!

Oh, and to maximize the expenditure of money, they also assemble them in 4 separate factories and have the left and right wings built by different companies .

If you ever thought the way the US procurement process works is jacked up, the european goverments have you beat by whole laps. This would have been a really nice plane to compete with the F18 and the F15, back in the 70s that is..... But yes, it's a pretty plane 28 years late and 10x over budget
