Well, since there are memberships available in other, more exotic locales... If you're close enough to KMLE to care, there are a couple of memberships available in the Skyhawk Flying Club based there. Limited to 45 members, we're currently flying a 172, a 182 and an Arrow. Buy-in is pretty low at $2K, and monthly dues are a measly $45. If you're interested, contact the club's membership coordinator (that would be me).
Oh sure, I'd just like to see a club presence at LNK someday as I think it'd really help build a stronger GA community at the airport.
So all I have to do is charge group of people several thousand bucks to join and then couple hundred per month plus so much per hour flying time... Hmm sounds workable. Lol
In our case... $2K to join, which makes you part owner of three aircraft. Monthly dues are $45, which covers the fixed expenses -- hangars, insurance, GPS updates, XM WX subscriptions, etc. The hourly rate and fuel surcharge covers the fuel, oil, engine reserve, that sort of thing. The 172 and 182 have both had major overhauls in the past year, the 182 an Arrow both have 3-blade Hartzell C/S props, all three have at least one GPS on board and I'm pretty sure even the 172 is good for IFR. I'm told there has never been an assessment in the history of the club, which was started in 1971. Overall it's a pretty good deal. On the low end is the 172, currently at $86 an hour or something like that. On the high end is the 182 at around $120, with the more popular Arrow in between. Membership is capped, so scheduling is almost never an issue.
Dale that sounds like a fair deal to me. Very cheap flying. I probably should get Jesse to organize a club in lincoln I'm sure he could squeeze it in. Clay you can't be parting with that little jewel of a 150! It probably has another 20000 hours in it at least. It's trained half of Lincoln already:wink2: Joe
I would LOVE to find someone local where we could work out a lease arrangement or see it go to a club...I'd love to continue flying it...we are going to an all Piper fleet but selling this plane is kind of like selling my first born. Piper stuff takes me out of your market. I'm good as long as the 172 is available at Duncan tho. Or I may just have to steal dads 177 when he's not looking and rent a hangar in KLNK and get it over with
