You are going to love this:
1- Go to www.google.com
2- Type in "french military victories", without the quotes
3- Instead of hitting "Search" hit "I'm feeling Lucky" (then, by all means, or just hit search and select the option Google gives you)
4- Tell your friends before the people at Google fix it

It's been that way for quite awhile.

They are called google bombs.
wikipedia said:
A Google bomb or Google washer is a certain attempt to influence the ranking of a given page in results returned by the Google search engine. Due to the way that Google's PageRank algorithm works, a page will be ranked higher if the sites that link to that page all use consistent anchor text. A Google bomb is created if a large number of sites link to the page in this manner. Google bomb is used both as a verb and a noun.

Bob, did you see a lot of remants of the French colonial culture or military when you were in the RVN? Language, vehicles, weapons, architecture? I've always been curious about their influence there.

No, but I was in the boonies most of the time, and the never got off of firebases and other military installations the rest of the time. Literally.
