Ok, most of us count on the fan to keep working to get us to a runway. But in the event it doesn't....

On the other hand... when I was out in SD, I happened to be on the ramp when a renter returned with the Champ, and some others and I were a little surprised at how far he'd gone on that puny fuel tank. He grinned and said "well, I'm a glider pilot..."

Yeah -- several of the Aeronca guys claim to do power off (as in "Mags off") gliding.

That's fine if you have a starter. I don't, and according to folks that know, restart speed would exceed Vne.
