I think anything is fair game. What might also work is a short review of a book. How else are we going to get people off their diet of romance (aka bodice rippers) novels?
We should also include reviews of books we're not going to share. I have a whole collection of Robert Ludlum that, while I would recommend them, I wouldn't let them out of my sight. And yes, they include the BOURNE series.
