Woke up last night to the wind at 3AM- made sure everything was battened down. Patio furniture properly placed, hanging plants on the ground & tied down. Then it got really loud- wind from the SE.

Woke up this morning- flower petals all over the yard from the hanging plants, neighbor's stuff in my yard. Our house is fine. The only strange thing was across the street- neighbor's trash can was blown east (direction wind was coming from):dunno:. The really strong wind only lasted about 15 minutes.

Lessee, in the last 24 hours the reported wx has been:

18011G26 055 OVC RA/BLSN/BR
220v36015G29 070 OVC
03004G19 050 FEW 070 BKN 090 BKN +RA
260v07014G29 055 OVC VV LIGHTNING +RA

The winds describe a typical day.

That's probably the remnants of the winds that blew through eastern CO on Thursday. I was enjoying the tailwind while crusing along in the RV at 50mph minding my own business...when I was passed by a speeding tumbleweed. Using tumbleweeds as a reference, the winds were from the south at 45-60mph. Cloud shadows were passing me at about double my speed.

Tailwinds were great. Crosswinds were another story entirely.

I just got inside. Been cleaning up all day. Man...I'm tired. Lost a couple of big branches, but I think we came out better than some.
