CNN said:
The majority of adult dogs and cats in U.S. homes are overweight or obese, and the problem has gotten worse over the past year, according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention. Fifty-three percent of adult dogs and 55% of cats were classified as overweight or obese by their veterinarians.

Now we're truly doomed if even our pets are getting fat. How does this happen? Even if you don't walk them they literally run laps around the yard at full speed.

Run laps around the yard at full speed? You haven't seen my lab. He hates going outside unless you are going with him. He'll spend the entire time sitting at the door staring at you until you let him back in again.

The only time he'll "Play" in the back yard is if the neighbor dog is out there, then they'll chase each other back and forth along the fence.

That's cute.
He is trained to where you can go open that door, that he wants in so badly, and simply walk away into another room and he won't step into the house until you tell him it's OK.
