I had to make a 3 day trip with my family to New Orleans last thursday. We stayed in the french quarter and looked around a bit.
When it was time to leave, as we were driving to the airport to return the rental car, one of the roads is completely parallel to a runway. When we were abeam the numbers, a 737 taxies on and starts the roll. We passed him, but after about 15 second he catches up to us and I get to see lift of right next to me
It was kind of like a rolling camera effect, very cool indeed. The road doesn't quite have a spot to pull off, but even if it did, I'd be hesitant to get out and start filming/photographing the planes as some security personel would probably be scrambled to stop us.
Anyways, made for a great view!
