Need help determining my test result...math again

OK - so I either bombed my latest test, or nailed it, depending 100% on whether or not the following is true:

(2 * sqrt(x - 1))^2 = 4x - 4

Actually...to better demonstrate, I drew a picture. If I am correct, then I think I aced my test. If it is not...well....sigh.

Sounds like my chem exam final in college. I could only get 3 wrong out of like 200 in order to maintain my A in the class. I was the first one done with the exam as usual. (I just am a really fast test taker). I am waiting outside the building, and talking to some of the people in class as they came out, asking about a couple problem questions I had on the exam. After discussing 3 of the problems, I realized I screwed all three of them up big time. DOH!

I got the results in the mail, I still kept the A in the class. Those three were the only three I got wrong. 98.5% Whew! I then proceeded to drop out of college and never went back. Oops.
