Tonight, I watched a one-hour show on the National Geographic Channel. It detailed a trip by Michael Fay during his flyover of Africa. The trip was made in a Skylane over some seven months and nearly 70,000 miles. He took nearly 100,000 photos. There are some amazing scenes in the show, both on the ground and from the air. This could have easily been a series of several hours if they would produce it.

I cannot find when it airs again but I highly recommend looking for it on the upcoming schedules. It's also in HDTV.

During the video, they said the 182 Skylane was referred to as the "SUV of the air" but I have never heard this reference.

I have always thought more of the 206 in this way.

I was thinking the same thing. I love the 182 but I don't see all that much utility area back there compared to the 206.

182s are close enough for most people and more plane than most pilots will really ever put through its full capabilities. And the 206s eclipse them.

Wow...amazing videography!

It is sad that we, the dominant species on the planet, are so parasitic and destructive of the very thing that ensures our survival, mother earth. :(
