If you see the Home Depot commercial where the wife is hearing the pitch on the all-purpose Ryobi laser level while her "helpful" husband is trying to stick a plumbers helper to his forehead....We know the actor with plunger. Brian is the husband of Jann's friend and stage director. They're all actors.

Brian is actually one of the top stage actors in Chicago. He was Rolfe in "Judgment at Nurenburg" when the author, Abby Mann came to see the play. Abby Mann is the creator of "Kojack." Brian got a call from Abby Mann's office

Y'ever watch "Cheaters"? Come on, admit it, you have!

The deep and dignified voice you hear narrating is my friend and client. Based here in Dallas, I have heard his voice in all parts of the country.

But "Cheaters"? Too funny.

An old friend of mine was planning on getting into acting (we all know how that works, right?). I haven't seen him for a couple of years, but then last winter he was in the FluMist commercial. He's the guy that says something like "Bob's still sick and he's not coming in" before they give the disastrous presentation. It was kind of cool to see him on TV!

Well, as long as we're name dropping, I had dinner with Harlan Hogan, one of the top V.O. guys, who just wrote the book. I had long ago crashed his monthly cigars and steaks dinner gatherings with many of the other top VO guys in town. We had an anniversary dinner at Ditka's. He brought me both of his books.

"Kill Bugs Dead"
"The cereal that Mikey likes"

The cool thing is when you hear a commercial and recognize that you know who's talking. I saw one of guys in the credits of a Nova episode I bought.

More bizarro: While I was waiting at the bar at Ditka's, himself was on the TV commenting on a game on ESPN. The hostess said, "Julie,...Julie..That's our boss." Then a commercial came on with another one of Jann's best friend's on it.
