My BasicMed experience.

This is really going to be great for me and save me some money. I have/had an SI for sleep apnea so was essentially doing the medical every year.

I went to my PCP for my regular annual physical yesterday. Got the paperwork done and signed off by him. I completed the online course that afternoon so I am done for the next four years other than redoing the online course in 2 barring any of the big 3. The cost of the annual physical is covered by my insurance.

I live in a very small town, I know the Doc outside of the office so I had talked to him about it prior to my visit. Not sure if there will be any issue after he retires and someone else comes to town but that should be at least after the next BasiMed physical anyway. I suppose if it looks like he might retire I could do the BasicMed sooner than the 4 years and push it out farther.

I know it’s not perfect, but it’s a big win for many.

Glad it worked well for you. I had a similar positive experience and went the BasicMed route for the exact same reason.
