Well, ya'll missed it this year but next year if you're looking for someplace to go you might think about the Mum fest at New Bern, NC, KEWN. http://www.mumfest.com/ Ken Daub of EAA chapter 1171 was great. the chapter provides free transportation to and from the fest, free tie downs at Tidewater Air and a 50 cent discount on 100LL. The fest has the typical booths for food and local crafts but it's the setting that makes the fest. It's situated in the historic district of New Bern, some really neat old houses and buildings. For those looking for something other than street vendor food there's Pollock Street Delicatessen on what else but Pollock Street. Good food decent price in an interesting old building. For those of you that like to throw your money in the water besides the air they have decent boat show also. All in all a nice way to spend a fall afternoon.
