I know, why am I posting it. Well we all know...

I bang out a proposal document on my work computer. It's formatted using some Swiss font thingie. It looks fine. Professional. Until I pull it up on my home computer. Total haywire. Cursive scrip here, weird font there, bad font stupid font, font font everywhere.

Apparent font substitutions. Except that when I click on the bastard font text, it still shows as the same Swiss font thingie. What gives? Google suggested that maybe the default printer might have something to do with it.

But I try one thing first, pretty much expecting it to not work. I select all, and go to reapply the Swiss font thingie. Low and behold, it isn't there! So, for whatever reason, the font shows up as having been applied to my document on the ribbon, even though it isn't physically installed on my computer. I just apply Ariel and all is good.

So if you run in to that issue, that might be the problem. You're welcome.

When it happened did you yell “what the Helvetica?!?!!?”?

Don't tell @Mtns2Skies that you couldn't get a computer to work. He had a fit about something similar on another thread.
