En-Route
- - - The recent performances by the Texas Flying Legends was well-attended at Wiscasset Airport in Maine. It was difficult to get clear shots of the magnificent aircraft, so surrounded were they by admirers of all ages. I managed to elbow my way toward one of the P-51 Mustangs and get a clear shot of pilot in cockpit. It got better. Only when I downloaded the shoot did I closely observe the octogenarian(at least) in the lower corner of my shot. Wait! Is that a WWII service patch on his hat? And a flag pin. See photo #1.
Suddenly I felt weak, and humble; particularly after doing a tight crop on the original image. See photo #2. "Sir? I don't know who you are but you make me feel good, all over. Thank you for your service and your continuing pride in a FREE America. Your face says it all."
