MI Eng failure; road landing

Great landing! See...it is possible to land without an AOA or a chute!

Good job going under those power lines back there and no wing tip damage.

Well done! Looks to be not a scratch on the bird. Love the comments, sounds like a few rated pilots chiming and correcting the clueless too.

Haha. I went back and read the comments. I like the user names better. @ummmmm....donuts

Talk about threading a needle... close trees and a power line crossing the road about 50' back?

I know a guy who made a similar landing several years ago. When I asked him about how he missed the power lines, he said he was so concentrated on the keeping between the trees never saw them. Sometime it's better to be lucky than good.

This highlights the importance of holding centerline while landing.

I have a friend that crossed a narrow country road to land in a field and flew under the wires. The poles were easy to spot. He knew he did not have the energy to go over and did not try. Kept it low to the ground.

Good job! Gateway Air sounds familiar... anyone know if they were based at IKW?

That road is three times as wide as OKH runway.
