We are looking for old photos of the Mexican Mountain Airstrip from 1975 when it was built by Wainoco Inc.. These photos will help us prove the airstrip existed prior the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 and help us protect your right to use the airstrip in the future. If anyone knows of any old photos showing the airstrip in 1975 or early 1976 please let us know.
The Mexican Mountain Airstrip is currently dry and in pretty good condition but the east end is a little softer than usual. The tamarisk bushes that have been a problem at times in years past should not be a problem for anyone right now. The wind sock is in taters but still indicated the wind accurately although it was harder to see. We will replace it as soon as possible.

The Soil Conservation Service can be a source of good historical aerial photos. All their stuff is stored in the National Archives Annex in College Park, MD, but it may be a bit of a hassle to get at it.

Cool, that may be of some help.
What is really strong, are PIX of people and aircraft actually on a given airstrip.
