I was in Natchez, MS today enjoying the Christmas decorations and Southern cooking and while in town stopped by Mim's Jewelry Store. I had heard about Mr. Mim's B-26 experience during WWII before but had never had the chance to meet him in person, until today. His B-26 story is posted online at the link below:

To make a long story short he related to me how he survived the belly landing in his B-26 after having the right engine shot off by AA over France and spent several months as a POW in the same Stalag as Bob Hoover. After the war he served as an Aircraft Research and Development (ARD) pilot testing aircraft mods for the military.

He mentioned he use to fly his Tri-Pacer to OSH often and even to the Bahamas on several occasions. He learned to fly in 1938 while attending college and his instructor had been taught to fly by one C. A. Lindbergh.
