Today, we honor our war dead.

Please take time out of your day to day to pause and reflect on the million or so men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our liberty and freedom. All they ask is we never forget.

Have fun today, enjoy time with family and friends. Just pause for a moment, raise a glass in their honor, remember and thank those who didn't make it home to their family and friends to continue their futures.

its always good to take time and reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.I for one will never forget.

This Memorial Day is particularly poignant for my lovely wife, Chris. Her Uncle Joe passed away Thursday. He was Chris’ dad’s brother.

Uncle Joe was a WWII veteran and got caught up in the Battle of the Bulge. Later Uncle Joe (Batsch) was an interpreter at the Nuremberg Trials (this because of his roots and the fact that native tongues were oft spoke “back in the day”)

We didn’t get to spend much time with the man, he always lived in St. Louis and we didn’t, but the time we did spend together was always quite enlightening. Joseph R. Batsch was a helluva man.

RIP Uncle Joe.
