Medical Flight Down in CA

I'm pretty certain I saw that plane depart from Crescent City when I flew in there a few years ago. Apparently my IFR cancellation wasn't received, and the crew tracked me down so I could call in and terminate it.
 
God bless the families of these people as they go through this terrible loss.
 
I saw the ALNOT for that one.

The terrain out there is not friendly at night. Hilly, heavily forested, very dark and frequently obscured by marine layer.
