Some nice proposals from Johnny...
Flat tax option for individuals - It's a step. I like having the choice of paying whichever tax bill is LOWER, as opposed to the AMT.
Lower corporate taxes - this'll drive the left wing anti-corporate folks nuts, but in reality, it's a very pro-American Jobs move. Make it cheaper to do business here and companies will do so. Companies are pretty smart that way. Let them repatriate overseas earnings without big bills. My wife is a CFO. She has lots of money stuck overseas that they'd love to bring home and invest here but it just doesn't make sense from a shareholder value perspective. More money will be available for investment, and for dividending, thence for personal spending. What's not to like?
Too bad, as the WSJ has pointed out, that he has no unifying theme. Just an a la carte menu of proposals for various things. Where's the "vision thing?"
