A good freind of mine has an airplane most of us will only ever be able to dream about. He's built a Lancair IV. And not just any IV, mind you, this is possibly the best example of type extant. Not only will she fly 300 MPH, she does it in style!

Last year, her accolades included "Best Composite Aircraft" at Sun-N-Fun, 3rd in class (top scoring "Lindy") at Oshkosh. Looks like she's not done yet. He's flying her home today to Michigan, and bringing with, an award of Reserve Grand Champion from Sun-N-Fun. Hat's off and congrats to Tom, I know you worked hard on this plane for years. I'm glad your efforts are being appreciated!

Lancairs are truly amazing birds. I have a friend working on a Lancair Legacy right now and I can't wait for him to finish so I can get a ride one day.

I just have a real need for speed. This is the plane for cross country screeching. Unfortunately, I don't have the skill to build it and probably can't afford to have someone build it for me.

I certainly look into it one day.
