read the comments... some ask good questions, like if the P-47 had a radial engine, how would they've shoe-horned this V-16 into the cowl of a stub-nosed fighter plane, although nick-named 'Thunderbolt', called by their pilots as 'jug'?

Have you stood next to a P-47? Not exactly a small plane. You just rearrange the tankage and mounts. Not that I think it would be a great idea lol. There was a 450hp Diesel Wright Cyclone engine...
