Maintenance Cessna 414

Hey,

I'd love to know the average maintenance fees for this particular aircraft : the Cessna 414

- 100h inspection
- annual inspection
- average expense/flight hour

I heard some crazy things, like $25.000 for an annual

best i could figure when i was flying the 421 was that it spent about an hour in the shop for every 5 in the air. I suspect the 414 would be about the same, maybe a bit better.

That would be about right. I would put the hourly operating cost conservatively at $400/hour.

If it's a hangar queen quadruple all the above estimates.

There is no way to "average" a 100/annual inspection on one of these airplanes. Just too many variables.

You may be prone to think any estimates above $20k/yr are wild exaggerations, and that even if you have to spend that much on an annual, the subsequent inspections will cost much less. If so, you would be wrong.

I just picked our Bo out of the shop and there was a twin Cessna sitting there...nice looking too...50k bill for the owner at pickup
