Hey Guys,

Later this week I will be headed to Eastern Kentucky for 6 days. Is there anything aviation related that is interesting/fun in the Louisville/ Cincinnati area? I will be staying somewhere in between.

In Louisville, you could try to arrange a tour of the UPS hub which is the largest in the world. Visit Bowman Field (KLOU).

There's an aviation museum in Lexington which about an hour by car from Louisville. http://www.aviationky.org/default.asp

Across the river in Indiana, you can visit Lee Bottom (64I) about 45 minutes by car. http://www.leebottom.com/

For Cincinnati, Lunken airport (KLUK) has a nice diner and a NetJets dispatch facility. Sporty's/Clermont County (I69) is about 15-20 minutes east of downtown Cincinnati. If you want to travel a bit farther north to Dayton there is the USAF Museum.

One last thing, Louisville is technically in central Kentucky. :wink2:

The National Museum of the USAF is near Dayton on Wright Patterson AFB. I believe it is the largest military aviation museum in the world. Several AF-1 Airplanes including JFK's where Johnson took the oath of office after the assassination.

Very large bookstore with books on just about every type of military airplane.

Cheers
