Bill wasn't a pilot --- of airplanes --- but he "flew" a terrific guitar and was a long-time favorite around Maine and New England. Before he moved to Maine, as a young man he had a band in New Jersey. There his band's gigs were often opened by an up & coming musician, Bruce Springsteen. Eventually, Bill left the band, the city, and moved to Maine to play and write. Springsteen took his place, and Bill's old band became the E Street Band.

Bill was a super, laid-back guy who just loved to play, whether in small clubs or large. We'll miss him.

Bill Chinnock.....wow! I remember that as a student at the University of Maine back in the late 70's/early 80's he was the hot ticket that played at local places like the Bear's Den and Showring. He was always touring Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Back then we didn't have much entertainment from out of town but we always had Bill. I've still got a few of his LPs hanging around.
