We've discussed everything else, why not this?
IO-520, 500hrs
They seem to liquefy, and the tear was not done during removal.
My aren't they inexpensive?

That's one of the reasons I get a dynamic balance done on annuals. Not only can I track changes in vibration, I preserve a lot of expensive parts like those mounts. It's the vibrations that tear them up fast.

Were the heat shields in place? One of them looks like it's been cooked.

Looks to me like they were not replaced at annual. Were they?

That's what I was thinking also.

I just had to replace mine. They probably cost more than they should, but still I didn't think they were that bad.

500 hours won't do that. How many years since that last overhaul? And were they changed at that time or did someone cheap out and use the ancient parts?

Depends on how hard the engine is shaking.

I'm going with that, outside of something obviously F'd up under the cowl.
