I'm just curious if anyone has any pictures of their throttle quadrants while flying WOT/LOP and just how close to idle-cutoff they get that red knob.
 
Umm, that's a (strong) function of altitude.

Even rich of peak and at full throttle, a C172 looks like the engine is cut off at over 10,000 feet.
 
It's also a strong function of how the particular airplane's fuel system is rigged.

If the engine stops running, you've pulled it back too far.

I try not to do that to a new passenger..really freaks them out...lol
