Bendix/TCM doesn't want us to use those things anymore. They're worried that the tool will damage the plastic gear. It likely has, when clumsy folks use it. I bet some have turned the prop with the tool still installed and torn the teeth. Using a finger to keep the gear in position is no fun, though.
