Before you buy your next paper logbook (avg/$27.50 or more)...

http://www.mypilotstore.com/mypilotstore/sep/1117 $27.50

http://www.avshop.com/product/ITEM321/151 $27.50

...consider FlightLog - Microsoft Excel Logbook Application. Starting at $29.95

FlightLog is an electronic logbook application that uses the latest in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet technology. FlightLog has the ability to print out professional Jeppessen logbook pages, flightlog filtering for tedious airline apps or insurance forms, and much more.

and how do i sign my entry for dual given?

What I have done with my logbook is to make entries into both paper logbook and FlightLog during my training. In FlightLog, under "remarks" section I reference the page number of the paper logbook. I've completed all my training so I only log my flight time in FlightLog and print it out when I have a full page.

Another option is to print a full page and have your Instructor sign it.

ok gotcha, its a backup, just like my google docs spreadsheet.

I dont know if I trust an app built on a microsoft application enough for something so important.

If your concerns about losing your flight data, the print option is made available after completing a full page. Try it out, it free to download and use for limited time. Can't hurt to try:dunno:

You know, the exact same thing can be done with a spreadsheet program. OpenOffice.org! Its amazing, and its free....forever!

Or you could drop money on software that essentially does the same thing! I know my choice!

I'm charging a reasonable price not because anyone with any knowledge of Excel formulas and program can create, but for the extensive time it took to create it.

Here are three options for you:

1 - How about a free online logbook at AviationLogs.com?

2 - If you want cheap you could simply buy this one for $7.96:

3 - If you want a really spiffy logbook (though unconventional):
http://www.aviationlogs.com/pilotshop/proddetail.asp?prod=LeatherLogAviation

But this is an EXCEL spreadsheet!! That's high tech! It had to have taken almost 1 FULL HOUR to write!

If your REALLY want a spreadsheet...
The logbook on AviationLogs.com can be downloaded as a CSV, then used with pretty much any spreadsheet or offline logbook software.

You can also upload logs from "Lighter Log", or anything in the same format.

BTW - AviationLogs.com sells the same Jeppesen Professional Logbook (same as the top of this thread) for $26.95 with free shipping:

BTW - BTW - A handful of the users on AviationLogs.com use spreadsheets like FliteLog and upload them to AviationLogs.com for safe keeping.
