I've been friends with a elderly Brooklyn couple since I was 10. They have a timeshare at the same Caribbean resort as my parents.
When I was about 17 they invited me over for dinner and to meet their granddaughter, who came with them that year. On entering, the wife said that exact thing. Her husband, the one I knew, yelled "he's not one of your bridge friends you crazy loon". I'm was just standing there trying not to laugh.
