I had the old junky Par 36 and replaced it with a halogen (experimental) after a lot of work to fit it and the transformer in a really tight space. Hardly any difference...

Too bad most of the advertising claims for flashlights are nothing more than hyperbole.

Go experimental. More than a few people in the RV community are using modified high power flashlights and/or off-road LED's. Lots of light for not much power.
