I grew up in Rome, so the constant roar of jet engines was the norm. Check out one of their favorite activities, the Minimum Interval Takeoff.

They'd launch everything on the base as quickly as possible. Guess they weren't too concerned about wake turbulence.

The Claxon would sound and the birds would fire up and start rolling. We in the WSA with a great view of the runway would watch and wait.
