Ack...city life
Sullen skies today,
Sunny skies tomorrow;
November steals from May,
And May from her doth borrow;
Griefs-Joys-in Time's strange dance
Interchangeably advance;
The sweetest joys that come to us
Come sweeter for past sorrow.

--Aubrey De Vere
I just started a book about flying the B-17 and each chapter is preceded by poetic verse. The verse is especially poignant to the stories which follow. Following this verse is a story you just have to read. It's from the book, A Mighty Fortress, by Charles Alling.
