iTouch Apps

Don't know if I'll love it, but I bought one of those iTouch thingamajiggies. I have a cell phone that my company provides (and pays for) so I haven't paid a phone bill since 2000, but I did want to play around with some of the apps that are available to these iThings.

Are there neat aviation applications available for the iTouch that you can suggest? What about any noteworthy non-aviation apps?

It's a 32GB version so I guess I have a little space to put a couple of apps on it.

Go to the app store and do a search for "aviation", you'll find a few. The only one I use is "AeroWeather".

Also try searching for "xplane".

If you're an AOPA member, you can try the "aopa airports" app for free.

Oh, and go spend $.99 on "FlightControl". It's an ATC-themed game. Not really particularly aviation-related, but it's fun and addicting.

The AOPA Airport Directory is a terrific implementation on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

You have to have your AOPA login to use it.
