When was running fuel supposed to be "safe"? I remember the Diamond P cameraman getting take out by a blower at the 25th Anniversary US Nationals, and that sucker passed about 25' in front of me (bottom row end of the pitside bleachers.

Driver deaths are pretty rare in NHRA. Hell, up untill Eric Medlen was killed in his freak accident, no one had ever died in a AA/FC!!
Of course it will never bee 100% safe, but that's the 4th high speed accident at the top end at E-Town in the last 2 years!
