iPhone compass?

How accurate is the iPhone compass? It appears to be spot on to my untrained eye. Close enough to verify the whisky compass?

Well, it's probably better in free space than your airplane compass, but you can't just use it inside the plane as it's likely to suffer from the same interference that is messing up the whiskey compass.

Of course, I've got a fluxgate on the HSI so other than some partial panel practice, I've not looked at the whiskey compass in years.
