Today was one of those days when it is good to train. Ceilings were high, vis was great and the winds were fast and gusty. I had scheduled an IPC for the today and had a blast.
The first approach to fly was a precision approach, the ILS2 into KDKB. The approach is labeled RADAR REQUIRED. Normally I do not contact Chi-app for practice approaches, they usually are too busy, but my CFI-I had said that lately Chi-App had been giving good service. So on 133.5 I gave them a call with the request. I immediately got a squawk and RV to the approach.
I also heard someone say "Hi Scott", not sure who that was though as I did not hear a callsign I recognized.
But Chi-app was helpful, even kept me on my squawk as I fly the missed to the hold.
Successfully completed my IPC and had a blast flying. With the gusts and stuff I was ready for a rock and roll day but it was not too bad.
