This has to be as close to Zero/Zero as you can get

Nah, I've seen RVR 1200 before.

I have seen it worse around here. I was thinking of doing a little instrument work since my flight up to Green Bay would have been useless. But one can barely get into the airports with an ILS. So after take off there would have been no way home.

Cedar Rapids was reporting 1/16sm vis for much of yesterday...now I'm at Des Moines and we're up to 1/8sm!!! At least the cold front/snow we are supposed to get tomorrow will clear things out.

Haha... No, not this time. Had places to be, and having to stay overnight in Nebraska or something wasn't high on my list of things to do.

Called the ASOS as I was driving past the airport tho, it said 1/4SM FG VV001. I could see the RAILs after cresting the hill on 51, then the rabbit slowly came into view, but I couldn't see the threshold lights until I was past the RAILs which would put vis in the 2000-2500 foot range at the surface. Yikes.

The TV weather bunny just read the .1 at Waukegan as "visibilty a tenth of an inch..." :goofy:

I've seen SPECI VV000 RVR0000 Freezing Rain, Snow, Blowing Snow at Burlington Vermont.

I was comfortably ensconced in front of a fire.
