How should this be reported, will this create a problem?

About two years ago, I was getting severe stomach pain about once a month for a period of approximately 24 hour (it happened four times.) My primary care provider sent me to a digestive specialist that did a bunch of tests (scans, ultra sounds, and a Upper GI.) Nothing was found and I was told it was most likely an increase in stomach acid caused by stress (had problems with my business at the time.) They put me on Nexium with I stopped taking after a month. I haven’t had any problems in the last year and a half. The specialist wanted me to come in for a follow up visit a year later, but I didn’t go because I wasn’t having problems and they didn’t find anything before.

I an assuming that I need to report this at my next medical review (3rd class.) Will this create a problem? Do I need to go back to the specialist and get a “clean bill of health?”

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Yes, you'll have to report it. I have no idea whether it will cause a problem or how to handle it, but Bruce Chien does, and I think he'll be around shortly to help. Another alternative is to contact the AOPA medical help desk (you are an AOPA member, right?) at 800-USA-AOPA. The only other advice I can give you myself is don't sign another medical application until you've talked with an aviation medical expert, because these things can be disasters if you don't go in with the right documentation up front.

"Gastritis treated with nexium and stress reduction" would do it for me
