For a couple of years I have had a picture of the intracoastal waterway as a background picture on my Windows 10 PC. My wife has had a picture on her Windows 10 laptop of the skyline of Toronto that she took when we flew. Yesterday I booted up my computer and HER background picture is on MY PC. I have NO IDEA how this happened. We share passwords for One Drive, Google and Icloud, but I never use them. She does use One Drive to share MSWord files between her laptop and her IPad.

How might her background (Wallpaper?) have jumped over to my PC?

She’s spyin’ on ya dude, hacked in but she was careless and left evidence:D

Did she log your machine into her Microsoft account to use the OneDrive?

Once a Win10 machine is associated in any way with a Microsoft account it’ll sync all sorts of things by default unless all that crud is turned off.

They’re shooting for that Apple ID like experience.

Quick, change your pornhub and grinder account passwords!
I am offended. I don't eve have a pornhub or grinder account. Besides, I have already changed those passwo (never mind).

That sounds most likely. Any idea how I turn off sync? Perhaps have her change her password on her machine and not tell my machine?

I’d have to Google it.

If she wants her OneDrive on your machine the correct way to do that would be to set up separate logins/users on the machine.

Or have share her OneDrive files to you on your OneDrive account.

There’s probably a way to turn off the sync junk while letting her stay logged into her OneDrive with your user, but that’s kinda not how it’s designed to work anymore.

Once you start mixing user accounts stuff gets weird.

Sounds like the end of the personal part of PC.

The industry went to a rental software model quite some time ago. If you want to “own” it, as far as OSes go, Linux is the only reasonable option now.
