Folks, the dreaded moment has arrived. My mother-in-law asked me when can I take her up for a flight.

Seriously, though, she is a lovely lady and I am delighted to take her up for a flight. She is wearing hearing aids and I was wondering how comfortable she will be with the DC H10-13.4 and all the chatter through the radio.

Any advice from pilots here who wear hearing aids? Are there any considerations regarding volume levels?

I really want to make this a very enjoyable experience for her, and I worry a bit about hearing aids and headphones.

I am also a bit concerned about mic sensitivity. She's a very softspoken person and I'd have to turn mic sensitivity so low that the ambient noise may keep her mic open all the time.

I have flown with hearing aids for years. Up until recently, I had CICs. Now I have Behind the Ear. I have had no problem with my Lightspeeds.

DCs give me a headache though, even without hearing aids. But I don't suppose you will be keeping her up for hours.

My mom wears a hearingaid and has no issues with a headset
