Can you plug a splitter into a headset jack so that 2 headsets can be plugged to the same jack?

Usually. Used to do it in my Mooney all the time with my son and wife sharing a jack. Pilot shops have the cables. I've heard it doesn't work on some setups. Not sure what the differences are.

Works best if both headsets are identical or at least have about the same impedance. OTOH, if the output impedance of the intercom is a lot lower than the headphone's (often the case), unmatched headsets isn't as big of a deal.
