Couple of my buddies want to go golfing in IL. When would they start to open up? Which ones might I like to golf at? Would like to maybe hit two or three nice courses. I think they are just thinking they open up sooner in IL.

I'm not sure what your level of "nice" is...

TPC Deer Run - home of the PGA's John Deere Classic is in Moline, IL. You can fly in to KMLI and get a rental car to get to the course.

Muscatine Municipal Golf Course - just a hop, skip, and jump from KMLI is KMUT. Muscatine's Municipal course was ranked one of the top municipal courses in the country a few years ago.

I'm not sure about when they'll open up. I saw people out on the driving range here in central IA this past week. Not sure when they'll actually open the courses, though.

We golf almost year round in Tennessee if that helps.:dunno: Come on down and I'll even pick up the green fees.

Thanks that's a start. Looks like some will open middle April and the better ones middle May. I'm looking into TN.

Well, if you're gonna go as far as TN, you could go all the way to Alabama and play the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. http://www.rtjgolf.com/trail/ When I was in high school, the RTJ Trail was 'new'. My dad and some buddies from work took a week and drove through Alabama and played 5-6 of the courses. They had a hoot. There's even a new one in my old home town. http://www.rtjgolf.com/courses/the_shoals/ Just a hop, skip, and jump from KMSL.

Here's a course close to the house that I play somewhat regularly.

I have to check in with the others, and see if that is too far or not. I did put it on the planner and found it was closer to just go to our house in Alva OK. The only problem is we don't have nearly as nice a course as you do. If I'm going to travel farther than 100 miles I'm going to golf a championship course. I got spoiled in AZ golfing with my brother on the good stuff. I'd have to tee it up each time to get the same lie around here.
