What are some good text books for general aviation mechanic maintenance? Found one online for free but doesn't go into a lot of detail.
Can anyone offer a fair priced text?

It depends on what you want the books for. If you are going to attend a college then they will probably specify which publications are required to match the contents of their course work and labs. At my college they initially specified Jeppeson but later changed to Dale Crane/ASA, and it is suprising how different they are even though they both meet the FAA AMT syllabus. The books are pricey when bought new but they should be available on the used market.

AC 65's and the 43-13. Stay away from the Glencoe books.

AC65 is really dozy reading. The Jeppesen manuals are the best I've seen, I think. Mine were ASA, IIRC.

The A&P text books the FAA bases a lot of test questions on are Advisory Circulars available for free down load at FAA website. Like FAA pilot handbooks.
