Heads up for anyone using Garmin Pilot. Their latest iOS update has completely broken the ability to file flight plans or get wx briefings on the iPhone. Sent email to Garmin support but haven't heard a thing from them in days. Apple App Store is showing plenty of users complaining about it but Garmin is keeping quiet on this. Ridiculous that a company like Garmin would not do proper testing before putting out a new release and when informed of the problems does not inform other users or rolls back to the prior working version. Tried calling Garmin aviation support but hold times of 45 minutes!!!

EFBs is teh debol. Paper charts will give you wx briefings and file your flight plan just fine. Rarraarararaaaaaar! :D

No, but a phone sure would. 1-800-WX-BRIEF.

Welcome to the world of consumer software.

Garmin is not alone in this behavior. In the consumer domain, it's how it's done. You cut all the corners you think you can on testing, and hope none of the resulting bugs are serious enough for people to complain about. With all too much regularity, that guess is wrong.

Now that you have found a serious bug, how many do you think there are that you haven't found?

Hint: last I looked -- about a year ago -- Garmin Pilot wasn't calculating climb times correctly. Not all that noticeable for a 2000 AGL cruise, but it got pretty obvious if you tried a 10,000 foot constant airspeed cruise-climb.
